Still serving even in Lockdown

I just had the most amazing yoga session with

Move Studio London.

It’s been exactly 5 weeks since we started our lockdown when Dan’s parents fell ill and we followed guidelines and self isolated (everyone is now well, thank you x ) . Previous to that I had decided that I needed to carve out some me time, I have always found this difficult, being a Mum and a business owner switching off is definitely not my forte.

My plan was thus

Once a month Spa, (didn’t happen)

Run twice a week (didn’t happen)

Read (didn’t happen)

Knit (didn’t happen)

Sew (didn’t happen)

Yoga (didn’t happen wait a minute yes it did…. yay)

You can see the above list I had BIG plans and the list could actually go on and on and on, just like my mind tends to do. Well the only thing I actually managed to do was attend 2 yoga sessions per week at the maverick Move Studio on Roman Road (above Abbotts Carpets) I was soooo proud of myself and loved it so much, I was starting to feel really strong and was beginning to understand why yoga is so incredibly good for us, I’d practiced in the past of course but nothing on a regular basis, this was a real revelation and I was loving it.

Then everything changed, my hands on work stopped, my connections stopped, my classes stopped, my mind went inward, my heart broke and I felt a disconnection I hadn’t felt in a long time, an uncertainty that I’m sure is universal, in most recent days I’ve felt like I am inside a bubble on my own but not alone, there are incredible moments here in this time looped, kind of suspended animation, I get to spend quality time with my gorgeous family, and maybe pick up a few different things from that list but I definitely mourn something lost.

Well I tell you, this evening was a night of resurrection, tonight I claimed something back, tonight I attended my first online yoga class with MOVE and OMG it was utterly brilliant, when I closed my eyes it was truly like being back in the studio, (apart from wacking my foot on my wardrobe door of course) Jessica’s calming voice and clear instruction made me realise that we are all still connected in a bizarre but magnificent way, that as we socially distance we can still build our inner strength and that we can come out this with a new found resolve …. they have even gone to the lengths of making Spotify playlists that enhance the experience and it really bloody works.

I am so grateful that our local community has been blessed with these wonderful maverick thinkers and that together Sam and Jess are continuing to create such a wonderful connection. Ladies I salute you … and will book in right now for my weekly sessions as you should do too… its half price to boot, bloody amazing!

Arrh the joys of less socially distanced times …. Cant wait to give you a hug xxx
